Todd Van Mechelen

Todd received his B.Sc. in Engineering Physics at the University of Alberta before completing his M.Sc. in Physics at the University of Toronto. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at Purdue University where he studies topological materials.



Farhad Khosravi
Farhad received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Physics, from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran, in Sep 2011. He received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada, in Sep 2014. His M.Sc. work was on the design and applications of GPS antennas. He is currently a Ph.D student at the University of Alberta working on the dynamics of the photonic and electronic spin in the light-matter interacting systems.



Farid Kalhor

Farid Received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2009 and 2012. He Joined Zubin Jacob’s group in 2014. Currently, he is studying spin-momentum locking of light and its role in light matter interaction.



Zohreh Poursoti

Zohreh received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from University of Tabriz, Iran. She joined Zubin’s research group in 2015. Zohreh is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Alberta, working on extreme ultra-violet (EUV) plasmonics.



Ashwin K. Boddeti

Ashwin did his 5Yr. Integrated Master’s in Basic Sciences with specialization in Physics from UM-DAE Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai, India. For his Master’s thesis he worked at Tata Institute for Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India on mesoscopic light transport in disordered media and on Anderson localization of light. Currently, he is working on resonant dipole-dipole interactions, and inverse design in nanophotonics.



Tyler Sentz

Tyler received his Bachelors in Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Physics at Purdue University in Dec 2017.He started working towards a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University. Tyler is working on energy transfer systems and developing skills in materials and fabrication at Birck Nanotechnology Center.



Xueji Wang

Xueji received his Bachelor‘s degree in Optical Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University, China in 2018. He is currently a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. Xueji is working on high-temperature thermal photonics at Birck Nanotechnology Center.



Leif Bauer

Leif received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2018 from Iowa State University. While at Iowa State, he studied magnetic properties of Faraday rotators. His current work involves nanoscale magnetometry and studying the properties of spin.



Ali Jishi

Ali received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2017 and his Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2019 from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently working on characterizing and engineering photothermal effects.



Wenbo Sun

Wenbo received his B.S. degree in Physics from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China in 2019. He is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering in Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. He is currently working on DFT calculations of material properties.



Stanley Doerger

Stanley earned his B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville in 2018 and 2019 respectively. He is currently studying image processing and tensor networks.



Vishal Chaudhury

Vishal received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from Delhi University and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India in 2013 and 2015 respectively. In 2015 he joined Center for Nano Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India to pursue his PhD in High power fiber lasers. Currently he is a visiting student at Purdue University working on Magneto Optic Kerr Effect and high temperature thermal photonics.
